Any news?

I'm sorry if I'm a nag, but what's going on with this project?

checking this thread for news feels like

I've got my DKB Megachip installed now, (A500 Rev6a Motherboard)
And I can test if it works with this board if that's in your interest?

We all got a life? We all don't want to deliver anything but the best we can make? Sure, there's Christmas business waiting outside, but there've been so many Christmas Eves now that one does not really count.

The Zeus is no vaporware, we already have boards.

All is coming along nicely.

Pffft, what logic, you just need some super-glue and you can put a PPC chip on any board

Sure, we will take a look (already have), Jens has, too. There's also been constant exchange of ideas at a1k.org. We're not enemies, and competition is a good motivator. The products are not really direct competitors. The Zeus is the expensive power horse with max. compatibility and fits internally. The ACA is aimed at a lower price, and is an external solution.

Both enhance the A500. Isn't that great, over 25 years later?

"Both enhance the A500. Isn't that great, over 25 years later?"

I can't wait till both are available - I'll buy and install both and have a super-duper ACAZeus (pronounced A-KA-Zeus)!!!

I'd recommend using two machines. Otherwise... none will work.

Also interested in any news here!

I also have a few question that I couldn't find an answer to in the looong thread.

1) Since Zeus68k only has IDE, isn't it still faster for lucky Trifecta owners to plug in an SCSI drive (or CF card via capable adapter) for 10 MB/s transfer rate, provided that its "hidden DMA" still works with Zeus68k?

2) Since everything basically goes through Zeus68k, is it possible to configure also the amount of chip RAM (in case you got e.g. DKB MegAChip with 2MB) via the startup screen?

No, chip mem is on board, and all the other custom chips need to be able to access it independently from the CPU. The Zeus is in the CPU socket, hence we can't fake chip mem, except for the CPU itself, which is not of much use.

I need to find out about SCSI.

As stated earlier, our plan is to deliver excellence, we don't care about production speed or cost. There's lots of stuff to be done office wise, like preparing accounts, getting quotes, making sure this gets properly taxed (the project will be managed and produced in Germany)... so... we're at it, while real life goes on.
