That's great news! Can't wait to see it.
Does anyone know of any Ebonstar-like games, or are there any programmers in the house who have thought about making one? |

I tend to not write design documents - the whole thing is planned out in my head at the moment, and I'm just "copying" it from my brain to the computer screen |

I may use *some* of the Xenon 2000 graphics in order to create new weaponry - but probably not much of it. I'll leave that to you lot, once the toolset/game is released for general consumption. |

Would you like to sell your game through DiscreetFX GameShop when completed DaphydTheBard?

Your right bippym, I had not read all the thread and realized he was using ripped graphics. Maybe for his next game then. Or maybe I can talk to the BB about it.

Let Daphyd finish the game, at least that way the BBs can't stop development

Yes,
Please DON'T talk to BB about this project - yet. However - once the game engine and toolset are complete, there's no reason why the budding artists here couldn't replace all the graphics in the game with original artwork - and then we could release it for sale under a different name, as a shoot-em-up with a toolset. aaargh.....having a nightmare at work today. A customer's SQL server DB has gone corrupt and I can't seem to fix it. |

Just a quick update - weapon editor for the toolset is now about 80% complete.
I'll try and post some screenshots over the weekend of it in action. |

As promised here are a couple of screens of the Weapon Editor in action!
Should have this complete by next week - Then I'm going to start work on the level editor. |

This I certainly like the look of Daphyd The Bard
You set out your project intensions & then get right down to it providing updates that show how your progressing. This is certainly a highly interseting games project your producing |

What's quite cool about this is that the classes used to represent and test the weapons in the editor are the same ones that will be used in the game itself, so essentially I'm writing the components for the game in the editor, and then once that's done, it will be a relatively fast and streamlined process to plug them together to form the actual gameplay.
I would estimate that this game will be ready to roll in about 2 months time. |
