What frustrates you in games?

The title says it all really.

I get really bugged out when I have to press a button to pick things up. Arghh! Why can't my ammo just be collected automatically (Uncharted 2 for example).

So, past and present games, what irks you?

One that i think of now:
3rd person camera view that can't be tweaked, if it is either too close, or too far for my taste, then, i may skip the game

Someone asking what irks you, .

Some FPS's bug me, cause you get so far and then realise your abit stuck due to lack of ammo.

1 Example is FarCry, yes FarCry, never finished it. I only just found my old save from 2006, so im continuing from where I was stuck 4 years ago, and Im still stuck, lol.

Arghh! I know exactly what you mean!! Those 3rd person cameras bug me out too. Actually, the one game which annoyed me (camera-wise) on the Amiga was stunt-car racer. That sometimes went far too crazy for my liking.

As for Far-Cry, I hear you. i never completed that either. Damn, need to go back and install that now lol

The graphics are mint now 4 years on, . Back then my card could just about handle it, but my new card runs it perfect on full res and maxed GFX, .
Well worth a revisit.

When you went over some of the jumps, it would sometimes buck in such a way that you couldn't see where you were going to land. It didn't happen often, but when it did it annoyed the hell out of me.

Still a classic game though!

Firedoors and lack of keys in Alien Breed. In Contra style games when you can not shoot diagonally. Enemies respawning at your exact position.

Well I would have to say all Amiga games without saves or codes. Really annoys me

I know you can save state but no such thing on a real miggy. Well I don't think anyway

Platform games where the character moves like he's on a pair of skates and it takes two seconds to turn and move in the other direction.

Random battles when I'm trying to get somewhere or find something. Square did well in getting rid of it in Chrono Trigger and again from FF12 onwards, as well as making it easy to toggle in Chaos Rings (not a Sonic game).

And AI that cheats. Many racing games for example...

The 'and you face 99 dragons' problem : Increasing difficulty by just increasing the number of enemies. Happens in a lot of RPGs where you have to face endless waves of samey enemies.
Other thing I noticed recently : Online games where you play PvP matches against random guys and they have a much higher level than you. You get to see a lot of 'PWNED', 'LOL', 'n00b'... That's sucks quite a bit

Or Warcraft/FF13 syndrome, where they just give you tougher versions of the same boring enemy.

yes well, decent AI programming is expensive I guess :/ It is only really done in a handful of games where you can see the developers cared, like Thief 1&2 and Half-life 1.

Platform games, where the character gets pushed back and paralyzed for a brief time, when getting hurt. Annoying like hell, when jumping over something bad, and get shot...
Turrican3 is a good example. I wonder why, in TurricanII it was perfect.

No save gave in Fire and Ice, great game, but never finished it.

This is probably just me, but any game where I have spent over 10 quid, and in order to get the really good cars or to 'unlock' extra worlds you have to complete boring tasks or race for ages to gain points...I want what I paid for!!!

I just realised this equally applies to games with no save game features! I want my money back on Fire and Ice. :-)
