I see, thanks!
I haven 't bought the LCD yet, I want to get HxC before that. First, I made sure the device worked. Yesterday, I managed to flash the Cortex firmware to it, and it's working just great! Thanks everyone for your help so far, it was a pretty smooth operation (except for one hiccup I managed to figure out on my own, maybe I should make an instructional video about this) |

Jeff, I sent you a PM but you never answered:
Lately I'm having a "LBA Change Test Failed ! Write Issue ?" warning each time I boot my HxC Gotek. I cannot use it afterwards since it hangs. Rebooting does not fix it. Booting from Workbench does not fix it. Any idea what this is and how to fix it? Thanks. |

It was my first call as well, but apparently that's not the issue. My USB stick works well both on PC and on other Goteks I have installed on other machines. Also, whatever USB stick that I plug onto my A1200's Gotek gives the very same error. An LBA error seems to be related to a bad boot sector, but since the USB stick works well on other Goteks and on other machines, it's not the stick's fault but in all probability a fault on this particular Gotek. Thinking that it might have been the cable connections, I opened my A1200 up and reconnected them (despite everything looking fine and dandy) but the problem persisted. I had done nothing (upgrade or anything else) to my Gotek as of late. Last time I used it was to play games the same as I've always done. There's apparently nothing that could have caused this. Still, I know that this sort of trouble doesn't happen just because, so there must be an underlying and yet undiscovered cause beneath it. In an attempt to solve the issue, I was able to flash a new firmware (v3.0.8.3a, which was the most compatible one I've tried in the past) but since then the Gotek is as good as dead, always displaying HxC on its display and never moving on from it (onto 000, as it used to do) and also unable to recognized any USB stick that I insert. If I boot from the CF card onto Workbench, the DF0: drive is not recognized anymore, regardless of any USB stick that might be plugged in.
EDIT: Disregard it, Jeff. I've since found out that it's not a Gotek problem after all. Last edited by PortuguesePilot; 30 May 2017 at 20:42. Reason: Update on the issue. |

I have no idea yet, but I tested the issue further and it's not the Gotek's fault. I'm afraid that it might be something on the A1200's board. Some capacitor or the disk DMA or something. My feeling is that the Gotek acts as if it is "decalibarted" and reads the wrong block on the autoloader.hfe file. It won't boot from disk. The same Gotek drive works well on my other Amigas, hence it's not its fault.

As far as I know it only supports an LCD 16x2 display, not at all that you posted. Something like this:
