Some Games wont Run from my Gotek now i Have a CF Card and WB3.1 Installed in my 1200 - Page 2

To be honest, 30 is about right, but will mean you're losing ram for every partition on the CF card.

I'd just disable the CF card if you wish to boot from the Gotek. See the following, specifically Disabling Devices and Caches:

Brilliant thank you I have Used Early startup Before and when I reboot the Amiga after Disabling CF Card it just Kicks straight back in from re boot, there is no stage in which it is Disabled am I doing something Wrong?

After you disable all devices bar DF0, you should click 'use' the bottom then 'boot'. If you Ctrl+A+A you'll undo anything you set in Early Startup

Ok I Tried that and Succesfully Disabled it, Loaded Alien breed 3d and still get the Same I think I need to bite the Bullet and get some Ram Expansion

None of that, or buffers, or RAM, have anything to do with the operation of the Gotek, though! So his Gotek not working while he has a CF in is weird.
He is not trying to run games off HD. He's running them from "floppy".

Thinking about expansion really is the wrong way to go at this issue. Amiga people are obsessed with expansions. Yes if you end up using WHDLoad instead you will probably benefit from the extra RAM, but at this point you aren't doing that and I would seriously look at why your machine is not running with Gotek now because that could be serious.

If your machine has not been recapped, that's your #1 port of call at this moment.

Another stupid question: how possible is it that you plugged the Gotek data cable the wrong way around? You gotta check the silly things first and foremost.

The funny thing is it isn't with All games it is only with Some games that don't run now that Did before its not Completely Stopped me using the Gotek I just Keep getting Software Failure Blackscreens on Certain ones

I wish I could explain this in a way Everyone could understand but I think its a fact you have to see it to Diagnose it. I have only had the Machine two Days but I do want to send it For recapping anyway along with my A500 to Save on Expense

After the War, Zombi, Alien Breed 1,2 and 3d, Crime city and a Few other Games I have Tried Did run Before installing CF Card, Disabling the CF Card in Startup Doesn't Help, I am all out of Ideas. Unless, Could it Be lack of Power to the unit now I have a CF Card and Gotek installed? As I have just Built a ATX Power Supply Converted For Amiga Purpose Ready for When I do Start really Pushing her with Upgrades but if it is already needing it now then it's ready at least

Weird because: Alien Breed 1 does not run on A1200.

Did you try REMOVING the CF card and try again? Not just disabling it. Completely remove it.

Gotek and CF consume LESS Power than real hard drives and floppy drives, so it's not that.

I haven't tried Removing it yet I wanted to See if I could solve the issue with it in still but I will pull it out now and test it. I may have been mistaken on the First Alien Breed then but I know the Others Did run Beforehand. Will pull it out now and let you know the outcome

Slight Result so Far though not Exactly what I hoped. After the War now starts but it looks like a stripy jumper lol Picture then nothing then picture then nothing. Crime city I got nothing again but that is no issue I can play that on the A500 as with Alien Breed 1, Alien Breed 2 and 3D are now Working again :-) and haven't gone any Further so Far going to have ten minutes on Alien Breed 3D Quickly then Test a Few more. I am Now Thinking it is Ram I need to Stop this issue?

An A1200 has more than enough RAM to play any of those titles.
I'm not 100% clear: did you remove the CF thing?

I think your computer is broken, probably capacitor related or until you rule that off nothing else could be guessed.

this is with the CF Card Removed Completely, Have had Success with Most of the Games again. I don't know how to put it into Words any clearer I do Apologise. I will try my best now. The CF Card is Definitely Making another Part of the A1200 Conflict to Cause the Issue, if I can play Most of the titles Again that I couldn't after I had installed the CF Card then it must be, I can't understand what it would be that it is Conflicting with. If you say that the A1200 has more than Enough ram then Could it possible be that the Kickstart Roms are Slightly Faulty? they are 3.0 Roms and are Told they are Buggy? I am a Beginner with Amiga Compared to Most on this Website so am Really struggling to Communicate my point Across without sounding a Complete idiot

Am Eliminating any Possibilities Step by Step so that it doesn't turn into a Money pit. Re-Capping is a Necessity and I think She will Benefit Greatly from this Service but For now I Really do think the Issue is Elsewhere i.e Loose Rom chips maybe.
