A3000 Compact Flash Floppy
Hi all
After much messing about getting my CF-IDE to work I have finally mounted it in my case. I was going to go for a rear plate mounted CF-IDE but thought that might be a pain having to get round the back removing and inserting the card (plus they were a bit more expensive). So I got a PCB model and modified a 5 1/4" to 3 1/2" bay kit, mounted it in the space floppy drive bay in the A3000D case and hey presto! It took a bit of fiddling getting the height right (had to mount it upside down in the end). And the power cable was getting in the way. A few holes had to be enlarged to fit the new bolts. Oh and lesson learnt: fit the IDE cable BEFORE assembly! |

Cheers guys. I was chuffed with my first Amiga hardware mod.
Yes 'whitening' the case, keyboard and mouse will be next week. I work at a college and our science tech will be sorting me out with the stuff. |

I hate potatos and shirts

Maybe a silly suggestion, but what about using a floppy "door" inside the unit to act as dust cover/"nothing here to see, go away!" when the CF is not plugged in?
