secret of Monkey Island WHDload. load error

Hey Guys'nGals. Just wondering if anyone has encountered this load error when attempting to load a save game.

"Reading unknown struct 0 from saveload"

really looking foreword to playing this for the first time. I didn't have the mem expansion in my Ami 500 to play it back in the day.


Hardware:

amiga 1200, Apollo 1230/42 card.

at a guess i would say maybe the savegame dir was missing,i'll have a look at my install a bit later for you.

ive uploaded my install to the zone,it seems to save and load ok on my machine.


also please make sure you have your maxtransfer set correctly in hdtoolbox.

Was there ever any solution to this? I get the same error, using the whd version from whdownload.com.

The solution would be that I update the install. Because if the game was incorrectly installed, you could run into trouble.

Also, there was probably a lot of OS-flashing when saving.

Adding to my TODO list (that's not a big issue, I think I did that same thing for some other game recently, just have to remember which it was)

update: found the other game (was ... Secret of monkey island II ), so will be easy to adapt. Now stumbled on access fault... just a small hiccup.

Doesn't the unprotected release load from your HD ?
Or does it suffer from bugs that are fixed with WHDLoad ?

all releases load, but the savegame is a tricky part, because whdload flashes like hell if you don't buffer the writes.
