Scripting Gamebase to autorun another emu.

Hi,

I am looking for someone to help Loic, the author of GBCPC (Gamebase for the CPC) to script Caprice32 in Gamebase (with autorun & script inserted in GEMUS).

Caprice 4.1.0 is the first version with commandline parsing. There is a modified version with an autorun feature, but it doesn't work for me through Gamebase. Anyway, the examples with Theatre Europe and Little Computer People works.

But why bother with it? WinAPE is a great CPC Emulator and it works pretty good with autorun in Gamebase.

Loic said that on this page, only snapshots are used and not full dsk's.
He also says that he uses Caprice32 only for games protected by GAP, and that CPCE is a very good emu (biased point of view here ).

WinAPE can't be easily used with GBCPC in its current state, and there, he mentions Scott Winder & 1001 BC (which are exceptions AFAIU).

Finally, he says that to make Gamebase & Caprice32 interact, he needs someone at ease with ACCESS programming .

Snapshots? Why? Anyway, WinAPE autorun CPC DSK images and you can use CPCE for CDT files. Good luck with Caprice32, maybe somebody can help.

Again : It seems snapshots were used for CPC loader to interact with Caprice32.
Plus, it seems the content of this site hasn't been updated for a while.

Snapshots can be loaded directly by emulators whereas some command must be types for dsk's. It sounds trivial but I like Caprice32 for its simplicity and its control properties page.

WinAPE autorun ability seems a bit overstated, accordingly to Loic.

Aah, now i've got it. I thought you meant Loic wanted to use Snaphshots.

What does he meant with overstated autorun feature in WinAPE?

The old Caprice32 version (3.6.1) doesn't have commandline support. Phoenix from the ECC frontend wrote e.g. a romrunner.exe for Project Tempest (no commandlines too) and it worked fine. Maybe Loic should ask Phoenix in the ECC forum for help.
