Since the dawn of my Amiga days in '89, I've probably spent around 30000 norwegian kroner (about 3700 euros, not accounting for inflation here). It's not a whole lot over the course of 17 years, but I was quite poor in my younger days, so upgrades were few and far in between.

Well... when I ran a BBS on my Amiga the costs would dwarf ALL these.
A2000 £750 (good price at time) GVP SCSI and 40Mb Quantum £750 (ouch) GVP 28mhz 030 & 8Mb Ram £500 2nd hand (bargain!!) 5x USR HST 16.8 modems at £400 each £2000 2Gb of SCSI Hard Disk - FREE from co-sysop's workplace A1200 for Games with GVP 030 £300+£200 = £500 Well theres £4500 without starting.. then there was the A500 before it all... |

hmmh....with the first A500 for 1000 DM in early 80's I guess I have spent until today more than 30000 Euros on my AMIGA collection (thinking of the 3000 original games I have)...
huge amount now that I think of it... and perhaps I have spent the same amount on my 3 old MERCEDES oldtimers (W108 280SE '75) |

I bought myself a boxed Amiga 600 off eBay yesterday for £24.99 + £10 delivery = £34.99 - The useal plus a few games and a shed load of cover disks with it. I haven't bought anything else yet, but will be aksing lots of questions regarding memory and Kickstart upgrades soon! Cheers... |

Can't really remember the exact price tag during my Amiga life but I was one of the few that shelled out £550 GBP for the PPC 060/50 card + £200 for the BVision gfx card. Roughly gives you an idea of what I spent on the rest of the system. Eeeek!
I hope I never again have to endure the overwhelming stress that I felt trying to 'prize' £550 worth of acclerator card into a BUSY tower system with a screwdriver! |
