Benefits of Classic WB

Why would people pick CWB over the likes of 3.0 and 3.1? What are the main benefits of it? Had a look through the feedback and this folder but the majority of threads are technical.

I've also watched the demo vid from the site but I'll be honest besides looking very colourful compared to the bland looking 3.1 I don't know what I'm looking at

Keep hearing talk of something called iGame but again doesn't mean a thing to me

It's like an 'all-inclusive' WB Bloodwych packed a lot of useful tools and apps in this package, so you don't have to search and install them yourself. It's still a 3.x WB, but with a lot of nice tweaks included

Edit : iGame http://igame.amigahellas.gr/ (should be self explanatory )

As TCD says, It's packed to the hilt of extremely useful tools that you would otherwise be missing in a standard installation.

I really would recommend that you try it to actually find out how awesome it is

If Workbench were a small digestive biscuit, then ClassicWB would be a gigantic black forest gateax with jam and cherries, and a risque picture of cheryl cole rendered in icing on the top.

Which version are you going for? As the others say its a great collection of apps and programs put together in a tidy easy to use package. IGame is a WHDLoad games front end with a superb screenshots package. Simply put for me this is what gave my Amiga a new lease me life.

Full seems to be the best one for my spec looking at the site. I have 4mb (which will most likely go up to 8mb after all the PCMCIA transfer stuff is sorted) and the site shows: Target system - A1200 with 4MB memory expansion. I'm only using a Scart lead to attach it to the TV.

Just had a quick look at the partition restrictions looks like I need to divide up my 4GB CF card into several smaller ones to hold all the games.

Full is the one to go for. But if you fancy a change in the future you could try ADV it works a treat on my A1200 with 8mb via Scart to LCD TV. (The icon packs are amazing)

I went with a partition of 500mb for the OS 1.5gb for storage and (just under) 2gb for games this is good for around 750-1000 WHDLoad games

If you use a seperate partition for games you'll need to change the assign for A-Games to DH1 or DH2 this is done in the Setting>Startup>Assign menu. This is for the gameslist/Igame scanning.

How much space should I be providing for the Workbench partition? If I unzip the CWB file it comes to abuot 500MB, do I need that much space on the card?
