Firepower

Does anyone remember this amazing game? I DO! To fresh up your mind.
The game is based on that you drive a
tank aurond a large battle field to get a
flag that is behind the enemies gates.

Now i want to hear what did you think about the game ?

I think it was great fun, especially in two player mode we had great battles back in the 90´s with this game ! But what makes it really funny are those little red squitches made when you roll over some soldiers :laugh :laugh :laugh

I had fun playing this game, until my disk got an error

So if anybody of you has the version cracked by Bamiga Sector 1^The Kent Team, please upload. Thanks

Silent Software, the company that made Fire Power, is still at it today as Prolific Publishing and here is their Fire Power blurb.

I played Fire Power for countless hours, much like I played Beach Head II on the C64. Running over the little green-blue guys was satifactory in a way it has never been since, even in 3D.

Ja...good link. And since I am in this thread now anyhow, I agree about what a classic game this is. It was one of the first games I ever got for the Amiga, and one which my nephew and I played for hours and hours. One of the great 2-player games, indeed. Elegant in its simplicity and objective. But I've not dusted it off for another go since way back then. I may have to give it another go.

Did anyone ever manage to get the enemy flag in one player mode?

I certainly didn't- I was too busy running over enemy soldiers and blowing up stuff!

A very memorable game.

Yep, Firepower is a classic.

I have looked everywhere for a HD-installed version but I don't know if one exists...if someone has such HD-installed version ("cracked version" or not) it they might consider uploading to the Zone.

There were apparently 2 others in the "One-on-One" series: the game "Turbo" (heaps of fun) and "Galactic Invasion" (haven't played this yet). Turbo runs fine straight off the harddisk even under OS3.9, you can download it from my site.

I've also played "Return Fire" on the 3DO, this is excellent, basically it's Firepower 2, with the ability to control a jeep, helicopter, etc. as well as the tank. Apparently "Return Fire 2" (Firepower 3 :-) ) is also available, for IBM-PC at least, haven't played this as yet.

Thumbs up

I just got this game after posting a request for the name here... I remembered the cool game, but not the name :hooooo

Totally loved this game. The real fu was in the two-player mode.
I used to play this for ages with a m8.
Funny, because even though you had the split screen and could see exactly what your opponent was up-to you could still be steaky

What a game.

Don't try Return Fire 2 you will get very disapointed if you liked firepower (original).
