Amiga display cables - will this work?
i have normal 20 inch LCD monitor. what i want to do is connect my amiga to it, the cheap way(no scan doubler). so i have come up with this.
if i buy this scart to vga cable http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2M-SCART-LEAD-...1%7C240%3A1318 and connect that to a standard amiga rgb scart cable using a scart coupler will it work? thanks |

If that is the case then course it wont work!
If your monitor will not sync to 15KHz Horizontal and/or 50Hz vertical there is nothing you can do at least for games. You will need to buy a scandoubler. If you only want to use Workbench you CAN use a Sync Dongle but to get it to work you must choose the DBLPAL or DBLNTSC screen mode (or perhaps VGA mode) in PREFS under workbench. You may need to copy the monitor types from STORAGE to DEVS. |

Might do. It is a widescreen LCDTV so it's not the best type to use with an Amiga (which is 4:3)
You'd be better off buying one from your local supermarket and if it does not work, or it flickers you can return it easily. |

what do you mean by flicker? becuase i bought an RGB scart cable and conneceted it to a LCD TV and while its crisper than composite i get all these waves across the screen. is the cable the problem or the TV?

Badly wired SCART cable missing some/all the grounds except audio.
When you wired in the audio it complete the gounds. |
