Well sure use what you know,if someone doesn't know assembly then they have no choice but to use something else.I've seen this game turn out well coded in basic so it's at least doable.I guess it depends on what you consider is okay.

I'd say this is a pretty excellent game and concept for Amos! Ideal basically. There's no scrolling, not a whole amount of things animating. Player and enemy are fairly mid sized and the color count is kept minimal. I've got no doubt the game will play perfectly even -perhaps- on lowest specs possible.

Earlier this month we were hinting on Indie Retro News that the classic game of Barbarian(Death Sword) which was first released in 1989 for a multitude of retro systems was coming to the Amiga as an enhanced version with an overhaul to the colours and possibly more. Well you'll be pleased to know it is actually happening and the team behind the game have shown off some more screenshots.

Barbarian+ - A feature update for this upcoming Amiga game overhaul

Quote:
With a team of people behind this game such as Colin Vella, Ten Shu and Simone Bernacchia. Barbarian+ according to the latest post on Facebook is an upcoming overhaul that doesn't just have better graphics (perhaps that is subjective as in your case). But it uses more colours, introduces some additional frames for smoother animation and, at least up to now, runs at a maximum framerate on a 1200.

Inspired maybe, there are some similar (not identical) parts or instruments, but definitelly not a rip off.

I am super confident that Colin will rock this...
For this kind of game AMOS seems to be a great fit, like TSAK above already explained.

And the new graphics are really amazing..
I think this will be a great upgrade to the orignal...

Hope we don't need an A1200 to run such a game.

It looks cool i'm just afraid that we will need an amiga 1200 to play it, just because it's done on amos but i'll be happy to be wrong.
ps: Thank you for doing this, i know all the work and the love you put in this work. Thank you for all the time you put in this. I still have hope that it could run on ocs just because there is no scrollings.

Hope, we get AGA version that can be used on A1200/A4000 or all Vampires and not another colorless rip off... And yes it could be 68000, i have no preferences there :-)

I stand corrected
The music has snippets from the first Conan also but it is inspired indeed, not a straight rip.

Here's the cpc version (which I prefer over the c64 one):

If you compare closely the 2 pics you'll see that other things are also mising like the girl and the torches as well as the upper part of the king (lower part is still there). My guess is that the second pic is either just a mockup or taken from a build with the animating parts turned off (or not yet implemented).
