file manipulation

Hi,

I saved some save-game files on a disk, from the save menu of a game.
If I try to open the save-game disk icon in the workbench, I don't see
those files I saved within the game.

Is there a way to acces those files. I would like to transfer them
in my hard drive (amiga HD I previously created).

Hope I was clear enough.

Thanks.

How to view hidden files in Workbench 2.05 and higher.

1. Boot up Workbench

2. Open floppy as before.

3. Hold right mouse button down and goto Window > show > All files

Hope this helps

tahnx for your answer (you already helped me previously regarding zac mackracken).

But my workbench is 1.3 and I can't find this menu you're talking about :-(

Do I need a workbench more recent ?

Insert the savegame disk into df1 (if you need df0 for the Workbench disk), open a Shell window (in the System drawer of the Workbench disk), enter cd df1: and dir.

Might be that you still cannot see the files because the game does not use the AmigaDOS file system but stores its data somewhere else. You might even destroy the saved games by accessing the disk through AmigaDOS.

I you want to load a saved game, the game probably has an option to do so. If we are still talking about Zak, press F6 or F7 (the key next to the save key) to access the load menu.

You could also use something like Disk Master

If you are not using a real A500 but an emulator then, yes it is recomended to use Workbench 3.1 and kickstart 3.1. I don't think Whdload works on WB1.3 anyway.
