Lotus Turbo Esprit (testers needed)

hi ,

it seems lotus1 whdload's patch can be slow on 2pl mode...

Last patch is fixed to work with 'Cache' tooltype and so to have a good speed in 2PL mode..

I personally tested it on this configuration
- a1200 + Blizzard 060 +32 Mo
- a1200 + Blizzard 030 50 mhz+32 Mo

It seems game crashed entering in game with 'cache' tooltype on:
- a4000 + 060 +128mo

can you test with your configuration?

If this is regarding the latest patch added to www.whdload.de at 04.06.06, I can confirm that it also crashes on my A4000 with the Cache tooltype set.

This happens after playing for a couple of seconds (it varies, I can get it as soon as the track shows too), then I get corrupted graphics for ~1sec and I am then thrown out of the game and given a WHDLoad requester, always with different errors. For example I most recently got "Exception "Line 1111 Emulator ($2C) at $79CF4 occured."

I have a default WHDLoad 16.6 install, so there should be no wierd stuff with that. There is no difference if I boot without startup sequence (3.1 setpatch with 68040 dummy and 68060 library) or not.

My A4000 has a CSPPC (68060) card, 128MB fastram.

here the solution send to me by guy who had sent bug report :
Thank you for your continuing support!

In the meantime I could run Lotus with CACHE Tooltype. In addition to the
128MB Fastram on my Cyberstorm MK2-Board there are 2x4MB Fastram on my A4000
mainboard. I changed the priority of the 128MB-fastram with Scout V3.6 so
that the priority was below the priority of the fastram on the mainboard.
When I played Lotus with this configuration game wasn't aborted and game
speed in 2 player mode was great! I'm very grateful for your help but I
think it is not necessary that you trace the problem further since I can
live with the priority change.

I don't have any memory on the motherboard except chipmem .

Wierd that the location of the memory affects wether it crashes in this case, as both the A4k motherboard fastram and turbocard fastram is located above the 24-bit area - 0x07000000-0x08000000 respective 0x08000000-0x0FFFFFFF.

This is no solution but a workaround for one single user.
Better would be a general fix.
It is possible that the reason for the bug is the same as I fixed in Lotus2. It uses blitter interrupts and at one point (near the end AFAIR) there is a interrupt acknowledge problem. That means a clear int req shortly followed by a rte. This doesn't work on fast 040/060. There must be at least another custom/cia access between. Try to check and insert a tst.w $dff002.

Hi guys!

I am trying to play WHDLoaded Lotus 1 in ClassicWB UAE. The problem is: the game is always starting in practice mode: first I see 20 POS when screen is zooming in and then it's POS 1 and no opponents.

I tried to install patch on floppy image, but all images I was able to get keep saying: Checksum error on track 2. Finally I managed to install patch on CD32 Classic Lotus Trilogy disk, but anyways I get the same problem as before (always practice mode).

Funny, but on real hardware (A1200) the game is working properly.

You must have a registered WHDLoad to play the game.

Thanks! Didn't think about it. Good that I have bought my key, so I just need to copy key to ClassicWB image.
