Amikit and MagicWB
Hi all!
I was tinkering with Amikit, what a great piece of work! But, I also have my own Workbench and all that use MagicWB and, in truth, I kind of miss the "good old time" feeling: how could I tell Amikit to use MagicWB colors, icons, and so on? I tried to tinker with Magellan and Amikit prefs but could not really find the right "button"... Cheers! Tygre |

you can try PeterK's icon.library and workbench.library replacements. http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=64079
download his IconDemoADF.rar and copy from this diskimage: df0:c/LoadResident to your c: directory df0:libs/icon.library to your libs: folder df0:libs/workbench.library to libs: folder edit s:startup-sequence at start of the file, add these lines: Quote:
- maybe you have to add FPRefs too, as seen in his startup-sequence example., just try yourself. - ministack might be a usefull addition too. for a demonstration only, you can just boot the disk-image itself, to test some examples icons. Last edited by emufan; 23 September 2012 at 11:14. |

No sorry emufan, but AmiKit won't need any of these changes. AmiKit already uses my icon.library and the latest workbench.library, too.
But your hint regarding FullPatette and FPPrefs could go into the right direction. I guess that FullPalette has stored the wrong MWB-colors for the pens 4-7 and 252-255. Edited: tygre, you could try to change the colors of these eight pens in Prefs:FullPalette and save the palette. FPPrefs should be in the startup-sequence anyway. I've just tried to set the MWB-colors 4-7 and also 252-255 in Prefs:FullPalette and it seems to work now. Attached is my ENVARC:Sys/FullPalette.prefs file. ok, ok. didnt knew about AmiKit. using AmigaSys here and got some ugly looking icons some weeks ago; found your icon/wb replacements and was impressed - i recall, it was much more work, installing all such icon systems in the past.

Never tried AmigaSys yet. Thanks a lot for pointing that out.

Thanks PeterK and emufan!
It took me a while (real life and stuff...) but I installed the latest AmiKit Real (thanks to Retrofan too!) and I don't have problems anymore :-) Great pieces of software, many thanks all! Cheers! |
