Old war game

Hi, I'm looking for an old war game. You have to control a little soldier, shoot some enemy soldiers, car and tanks. And the view was like you would be looking to the ground from high above. The funniest part is that this game was never ending - if you die, you could just press something and continue the game from the spot that you died in. I used to like this game, but I forgot the title and now I really want to play it again, so could you help me?

well, there are probably zillions of games fitting the description, but here's a try,
fernandez must die
(at least it has good rhyme )
about continuing the game, you mean it's probably trained right ?

Sounds like a trained version of Dogs of War.

There's hundreds of those games, as has been pointed out... But the grandaddy of them all is Commando;

Seeing his last visit was when he wrote that post, I wonder if Rockbag remembers about this thread?
