Asl.library is part of Kickstart. Version 39 means Kickstart 3.0 (or higher).

Well, to test asl.library, run Prefs/Font and click on one of the Select xxxx Text buttons. If a font requester opens, then asl.library is working. Similarly you can run WBPattern, select Type = Picture and click on the Select Picture button. If a file requester opens, then asl.library is working.
Open a Shell window and enter version asl.library. Should be version 39.4. Maybe AWeb needs some other library and shows the wrong error message. Run SnoopDOS before AWeb and check the log. |

It should be possible to load a newer lib resident or upgrade to KickROM 3.1

Hello carloratm,
the asl.library v39.4 that you need is on your Workbench 3.0 disk in the Libs directory and NOT in any Kickstart ROM. Probably, a bad installer script has overwritten your Libs:asl.library with an older version or it was the one who sits in front of the screen Just copy the original library back from your WB 3.0 disk onto your system. |

Now AWeb is working well, but I got a generic error when I am trying to start AmiTCP ! AmiTCP was working well before the lib replacement. Is it possible that replacing the asl.library have broken my AmiTCP Installation? |

If AmiTCP strictly requires the old library.
Maybe try this: http://aminet.net/package/util/libs/asl_v42.0 |
