Anyone still use YAM?

I'm in the process of trying out SimpleMail. But i got wondering, is anyone still using YAM?
I used to use it with Gmail, but now it times out. Was always nice to get my email on my Amiga.

Same here and that is why I don’t use YAM. Can’t access my gmail. Simplemail is what I use as well.

I used it for many, many years. But these days the only workable versions are the beta builds that time out every so often, which makes it kinda annoying to work with so I don't use it any more. SimpleMail shows promise, but it crashes hard for me when I use it with my GMail account (I guess due to the size of the mailbox), so that's not an option for me either

I also switched to SimpleMail because it takes hours just for starting on my 030...

Hey guys, if you don't mind. I'd very much like to know what services your using, Gmail, hotmail etc..It would be helpful to know what still works on the Amiga.

I have both Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo. I'd love to get at least one working on my A1200.

Gmail works for sure. I use simplemail to access my gmail account, so yes...

Using also GMail with SimpleMail. YAM was too annoying with the beta bomb screens.

I'm using YAM to access a Yahoo mail account. You will need to turn on POP3 access in your yahoo account to make it work.

I am able to send and receive.

Both YAM and Simplemail were working with my Eircom account (YAM via POP3, Simplemail via IMAP), but I don't use that account any more. My GMail account worked via POP3 in both, but Simplemail crashes for me when trying to access GMail via IMAP. Also, you need to have the latest SSL installed on your Amiga and enable access from less secure devices in your Google account for either of them to even connect.

I'm stuck with YAM 2.6 since a decade on my Pegasos2/MorphOS. Never updated again, because MorphOS-support became constantly worse in the YAM-team. And why update something which just works?

I would certainly consider switching to SimpleMail or a different mailer which works, but without any pressure I'm just to lazy to touch it.

Of course I'm in the comfortable situation to use our own mail server, which belongs to a private non-profit organisation. So there are always ways to keep it running with non-mainstream systems.

That's a good idea for MorphOS, thanks. Will check it out.
