http://stats.abime.net
while trawling through Google in relation to my own nicks, I came across http://stats.abime.net and was rather disturbed that it listed all IPs that visited there, my own included.
Surely this is a security hazard? I can't say I'm particularly comfortable that anyone can type my nick in Google and find my static IP in a matter of minutes! My apologies if this is the parent ISP domain which is out of your control, but I'm assuming that the whole of abime.net is run by RCK. Surely such IP listings should be restricted to moderators/admin under this domain. Any info appreciated. |

http://stats.abime.net/ is run by me, for users.
- since the 1 july, the detection of the country is now done by IP and not by reverse DNS ! which is very cool to have accurate map overview. go france go ! (7th pos) - we now have extra new info like user's fav resolution, pdf, flash support, etc.. - those statistics are public cause I think people love to know what's happening on the whole domain and about your "problem", I did not understand where was the link between your nick and your ip ?!!! - and "echo" in google give me nothing. |

My IP's DNS contains 'echo', which is why google picked it up - I realise now there's no actual correlation between usernames and IPs on that list. I'm probably just being paranoid, but maybe I need to change the DNS name to something more obscure Thanks for the info. |

i don't like this feature at all! it shows way too much private information!
everyone can see my personal bookmark-page with lots of private links. that's not good! besides, i don't have a dynamic ip, i don't want to have everyone see my ip. |

our stats system only see direct abime.net references used by guests from *public* websites. (if you don't set up a password to your private page, it is like public for Internet) Quote:

sorry, but it IS a privacy issue. i have moved my page to a password area now, but if there wasn't this stats page, i never had to! general stats are ok, but i think these abime stats go too far. my opinion.

Unknown OS & browser?
What could the unknown OS and browser be on this stats page?
Both are in second place on the top 10 OS and top 10 browser respectively. 'tis a bit bizarre, as most popular browsers and OS's are in fact already listed... |

Geez Mache .. take a pill .. your real paranoid .. Nobody cares about your private website devoted to "Custard cream pies and plastic underpants"
Most websites stat info just like this (and maybe more) .. I know our website does (Paralegal law training etc) .. its used in demographic marketing and etc.. |
