Wings of Fury

I got big problems running Wing of Fury, I keep getting errors from the WorkBench. here's the errors...

After selecting cancel, I get this:

I'm using the kickstart 1.3 version. To me it sounds like it's something wrong with the game and not my settings in WinUAE.

I would upload my version to you, but The Zone is full... I have never seen the zone full before ...

I have never used WHDLoad, not exactly sure what it is but heard of it serveral times before. I try to load it directly from the floppy through WinUAE.

It's only through this emulator unfortunately, wish I had my old Amiga back. And this isn't the only game it's trouble with cause I've noticed some work in WinUAE and some in WinFellow so I've been messing with the configs alot.

I forgot to test it in WinFellow so i'm gonna try that, if that works then it's my settings in WinUAE.

I just checked it in Fellow and it works fine there.

I haven't found any good documentation on the settings in WinUAE but if anyone knows one or a basic config I could use that works for most games.

I did try those at BTTR but they never really worked for me.

Hmm, seems to work fine for me, WinUAE 0.8.21.3 and a Kickstart 1.3 config.

First of all, welcome to EAB punkie!

The BTTR configurations are pretty good to start out with, but some games require special settings. And, sometimes you have to use a certain WinUAE version to get a game running.
Personally, I have eight different WinUAE versions installed + WinFellow. If you check the lists at BTTR you'll notice that they give you the working config AND the working WinUAE version.

If you have trouble with a game, here's some general suggestions:

- Try a VERY basic config; 512k chipmem only, disable external drives etc. Some games don't like "extras" at all.

- Try two completely different WinUAE versions, for example WinUAE 0.8.8 R3 and 0.8.21 R3. Some games only work with an older version, some with the newest versions.

If you still can't make it run, give us the info here at EAB and somebody will help you out. We need to know which emulator you're using and who cracked the game etc. Sometimes the best way it to post the game in the Zone because your copy could be corrupt or something.

I thought the configs at BTTR would work for the latest versions of WinUAE so where can I get older versions of this software? I didn't find any on their website, only 0.8.21R2.
