(176.47-50)*100 = 12,647

Only two crashes. Clean run until miscalculation in lap 22 and then after yellow flags again lost concentration and crashed to backmaker...

(147.78 - 100) * 100 = 4,778

The score table was broken with negative scores. To mitigate this we've awarded everyone 20'000 bonus points.

Akabei's formula was updated accordingly.

First session:
20,000+(221,78-(6*10))*100 = 36,178

This is the first time I play this game.
He had never attracted me, I prefer F1 and the Prost Senna duel
There were 2 times yellow flags but it was not my fault.
Impossible to do better with my random settings...

Nice going rexsu getting to 6th place so quickly.

But sadly the score is invalid because you were still in lap 30 of 30 in the screenshot and the race wasn't finished yet (no checkered flags).
The 221.78 mph is just the average speed of your 29th lap.
Only once you finish a race your average speed for the whole race will be displayed!

It's physically impossible to have an average speed of 220+ mph with 2 yellow flag-phases.

Note: When you've finished the 30th lap you can press F1 to show your average speed.

I wanted to give this game another go to try to make a better score, but...
Finally it's a blow in the water
I only post because I have a question :
As you can see on the screen-shot, it's written 25 out of 30, still in race.
So, except if there was a bug, can someone explain me the following :
- The race was OK.
- On a turn, another car and mine touched (can'r remember if it was lap 24 or 25)
- This car suddenly disappeared from the screen (even no engine sound)
- I kept following the 3-4 cars in front of me and at the end of the track they all went to the pit.
- On the next lap (and the followings) the car I touched was not present on the side of the track.
- I then have made about 4 laps but it was still 25 out of 30, race (I didn't notice it right away, too focused on my turns)
- I have made 2 more laps (to be sure that the count was really not increasing)
- Then I have been to the pit (there I saw a lot of cars on the left)
- Went to my place, filled the tank and returned to the race
- One more turn without problem but still 25 out of 30
- Then by mistake the car ate some grass and when I came back on the track the car began to slow down (alone) until it stopped completely
- But still "in race", flags did not change (yellow/finish).
- Joystick (gear) not responding ; right/left OK
- Keyboard (gear) not responding; right/left, "F<>" keys OK
- Mouse (gear) not responding
- Took the screen-shot and wanted to reset.
- Funny thing : I don't know why but I began to shook the mouse right/left and car began to go backwards

Even if I don't care so much (not my favourite game), does someone have any idea about what happened ? Should I have waited the finish flag ? Would the car have restarted ?

The race was finished - there's a checkered flag. It's a valid run with a score of 2,527 which is lower than your first score.

For me the race was not over as it is still written "race" in red.
But ok and thank you for the answer.

Ah, okay. That just shows the mode you're playing (practice, qualifying or race) and stays red all the time.

Like Rexsu I also prefer F1, although I'm not averse to this game. I think I might have felt slightly limited to just having the one course though.

Bad luck on your score Rexsu. As we enter the last few days, Brexit style; with a few last options to tinker and make changes before the cliff face of empty super markets and ques at Pharmacys...I mean round 2.

Rexsu hasn't been on EAB since he posted his score. I've sent him a pm (but it's forum-only because he hasn't provided his email address on EAB and Lemon).

In your screenshot it shows the chequered flag, and it also says Race: Flagged - which shows when the race is over. You were 6 laps down on the leader. The leader won the race having done 30 laps, and when that happens the field is given their positions and its race over.

I've only had one go at this and I feel sheepish posting the score as it was an awful race that involved me crashing almost as soon as the last set of yellow flags stopped waving. Somehow this score doesn't have me in last place which surprises me.

On the post your setup debate, I know that Lifeschool only has the integrity of the competition at heart, but I just want to dip in and play this for half and hour here and there, I don't have much time to play with setups, so I am grateful or a workable setup being posted, on the condition that it isn't be best one possible and serious players will have an advantage over casual ones. FWIW I never bothered with setups on Microprose F1 either, I just took the default setup for a spin.

20,000+(218,44-(6*10))*100 = 35,844
With my settings it's impossible to do better than 6th without yellow flag.

Dang! One computer car crashed in lap 7 and after that clean run until I finally hit backmarker in lap 29

This round feels like an Indy race in itself - el_pasi overtakes rexsu and only has akabei in front of him.
edit: Oh, steef just overtook el_pasi and akabei.

Only 2.5 laps (days) to go!
