Replacing SIMM sockets on Blizzard MKII or extension to fit with ACA500

I have:
- ACA500 accelerators (original and plus)
- A1K plexiglass case(s)
- Blizzard MKII accelerator with 2x32MB SIMMs (lowest profile I could find)

The problem is pretty basic, the hang of the Blizzard accelerator together with angled SIMMs means there's no way this can fit in the case! I already propped my A500 up with empty chip trays for testing but now I don't want the boards just hanging awkwardly off the side.

I'm just thinking through options here, later Blizzard models have horizontal SIMM sockets so would it be possible to replace a socket on the II (and sacrifice 32MB) to buy room? (very against this) Maybe somebody with a IV and a similar setup could confirm if this is enough to help?

Would it be out of the question for a short flexible cable extension for the A1200 expansion connector to exist/function reliably?
