First :I agree with meynaf & dlfrsilver.
Second : I never played Ambermoon Anyway, if you want to "play" with your copy and "try" to change a word, here is the most "basic" way (I think it's the most basic one indeed ) : - First you have to read the EDIT manual as it allows "binary" editing. Begin here. - If you don't like EDIT, search for any HEX editor and learn how to use it. - Then you have to check every single file/disk to find the word you want to change. Use the EDIT commands to do so. - If you are lucky enough, the text is stored plain and can be found. - If not, pass your way. - If you find it, change it. First try to change by respecting the number of letters. But beware... May work, may not work... give a try And cross your fingers... |

Thank you malko. Appreciate it. I will make a copy of the folder as I may risk damaging it and attempt it.

Ok i don't seem to speak english good enough :
It's a no then, firm and clear I'm not agressive. You perfectly know that posting religious request or beliefs on video game/retro hardware forums is unauthorized on most forum, due to the problem it triggers. You know the english proverb : "opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one, but no one want to hear yours !". Keep your religious beliefs for YOU ! No one want to know about them, it's your own thing. I see that first you posted about can you help me with Ambermoon, and then this silly request ! And your topic is just about now making a silly request about renaming a character from the inside of the game. Why playing a game if the characters inside just schock or make you uncomfortable with ? Just why ? |

Doesn't Canada have laws for religious freedom ? We can't discuss these matters here but we could do it by pm. Besides, the game does not ask you to worship these gods. Oh, wait. Yes, you should worship Tarbos, god of chaos ! Wow, so you agree with me before i have expressed my opinion ? But i agree with dlfrsilver, even though i found him a little rude here. Perhaps you could give it a try then Quote:
"Pray" would be more appropriate |

When I had a look at the screen shot on HOL, based on the gfx, thought about Crystals Of Arborea. Actually other games are taking some of my spare time (for one of them : damn I forgot how hard it was... I can't believe, back in time, I was almost finishing it with my fingers in my nose ). But why not. Ambermoon is the genre of game I enjoy also. So who knows... Last edited by malko; 08 October 2018 at 11:42. Reason: colour |

If you remember at the start of your work on localising Ambermoon to French you made posts reporting lots and lots of false bugs in the v1.07 data files because you were not using the tested Amiga tool(s) I provided but instead a PC tool by Oliver Gantert with a bug in it. Later your bug reports seem more accurate, but they are difficult to follow because instead of quoting the original text block and control codes from the original v1.07 files you quote the text block *after* you had converted it to French. http://eab.abime.net/showpost.php?p=...&postcount=571 And even later, you post bugs which meynaf and others worked out were not in the original v1.07 files, but were a side effect of the modifications you had made during your conversion. I've collected all the v1.07 bug reports made to me and to eab by the following people : meynaf dlfrsilver st-th prophesore MetalliC Hexxae These people were the most significant contributors of bug reports about Ambermoon. I am slowly compiling the technical information about each bug and the DIFF patches for the original v1.07 files. I only have 30 minutes per day to work on the task. |
