Faery Tale, if you haven't YET played it all the way through. It's still fun and atmospheric today!

Indianna Jones Fate of Atlantis the "Action" Game is ok and has classic isometric style gameplay.
I really like Escape from Colditz mentioned earlier. |

Robin Hood for Amiga was one of my favourite games. +1 on Escape from Colditz also.

Too bad we're talking miggy as the best isometric adventure EVAR~!1! was "Landstalker" on the Mega Drive.
However I'll throw a vote in for D/Generation as well - yes it's puzzle-like but gets way more shooty when you get past the first floor. Damn those 2nd Gen tube thingies - always mis-time when to shoot 'em |

Landstalker is quite cool, but the isometric jumping puzzles are really hard. Yet the story was worth to endure it

I agree. I prefer the stronger emphasis on puzzles that you get in Cadaver. Yet there are bits of action occasionally just to break it up.

Hmm. Dastardly, I think Faery Tale Adventure is just right. It's quite huge and the atmosphere is creepy, just the kind of 16 bit world I like to get lost in!
![]() Edit: Damn, Bamiga beat me to it, and even used "atmosphere" in his post. I guess we both agree the game is unique like that! |

lets not forget
Ultima VI: The False Prophet Ultima VII Part 1: The Black Gate & Forge Of Virtue Ultima VII Part 2: Serpent Isle & The Silver Seed y'know, I would love to be part of team to make an Amiga Isometric adventure! I would love to do an ISO remake of Alien Breed!!! or even Space Hulk!!! Although if only I had the time to work on a Final-Fantasy-esque Isometric game for the miggy, that would truly be a dream come true!!! |

I would recommend already mentioned Heimdall 2 (if you like akward fights, then Heimdall also) and Darkmere. Still, they have some flaws but you can live with them. Try also Legacy of Sorasil or its prequel HeroQuest. |

Perhaps someone can enlighten me on how to play Cadaver or at least what I'm doing wrong. I love Isometric games and without comparing it to Landstalker (to me that's unfair as I have Landstalker #1 to my new #2 favorite D/Generation) I still just don't get it.
I mean... literally I don't get it. I've walked around rooms and then walked to other rooms. I couldn't seem to attack or find a weapon, nor do I know what's going on or for that matter what the plot is. I imagine these things would help so I just shelved Cadaver for about 5 months now. And whoever doesnt' like the jumping puzzles in Landstalker clearly needs my (honestly) warped depth perception. Turning negatives into positives since 1982 ![]() |

Bags of rocks are the weapons in the first world of Cadaver. The point is to walk around, figure out what the puzzles are and try to solve them. The game is quite unforgiving, it does not hold your hand anywhere. You are thrown literally and figuratively into the deep and you have to figure everything out yourself, with a cryptic hint here and there in books and scrolls.
edit: of course TCD the master spammer is first. |
