Question :help :guru Advice for the best organisational structure for all files and folders?

I am still in the process of weeding it all duplicates from my large collection but I'm getting to the point where I'm trying to organise it all and realise it's a very complex thing to figure out (at least in my head anyway). I'm talked with creating done kind of structure that will allow me to keep everything organised.

Items I've come across to organise include adf, dms, adz and rp9 floppy disk files, hdf files, emulators from winuae to fellow and fs-uae, demo scene stuff that could be potentially broke down into further sub categories, games (so many that they need individual lettered folders), mod music, videos, roms, also actual Amiga folders (Workbench folder or Amiga apps not contained within a adf or hdf disk image), etc, etc.

The most complicated part is presented by the emulators because i want to organise my files in a way that allows me to browse and point my emulators to relevant folders for adf's or hdf's - should i keep them inside of winuae or outside of winuae, for example.

I'm wondering things like:
Can i set up portable versions of winuae and other emulators like fs-uae and Amikit so that my collection is transferable to other pc's in the future and quick to get going again?

So, what are your thoughts on this puzzle?
Do you have advice to specific questions i have?
What is your organisational structure? (Feel free to include screenshots)

I want to organise it all correctly so i don't hit any bumps in the road later on...

Well, organization is a personal preference.

For example; I keep anything related to the Amiga in a folder
called Amiga. Then have sub directories relating to different
stuff like programing, games, etc.

As far as your portable question; WinUAE and FS-UAE can
both be configured for portable operation. It's pretty easy
for both programs.

For WinUAE there is a portable selection in the paths section
For FS-UAE, basically all you have to do is put a portable.ini
file (empty) in the base directory of the program.

Just read the FAQ/Documentations for both programs and they
will guide you in the correct direction.

Hope this helps!
