James Pond CD32, Western Games and Magicland Dizzy all have an extra slave in their data folder.

There's also two lha archives for Danger Freak. Maybe one could to go in the beta folder.

None of these issues break anything and it's probably my OCD kicking in but it could be an easy fix.

Looked in my collection and James Pond 2 & 3 CD32 only have the one slave, there is no CD32 version of the original James Pond. Only one slave in Western Games too and MagicLand Dizzy. I suspect you are using older files, Dizzy is v1.5, the CD32 versions of James pond 2 & 3 are 1.0 and 2.1. Also I only have one version of DangerFreak

If they are the same, I suspect corruption or file mishandling. Mine are all downloaded from the archive and then carefully curated to make sure I have the latest versions.

I just checked, none of them has duplicate slaves in the lhas.
Danger Freak has two archives, v1.0 and v1.1 because of issues with the latter.

Everything is as it should should be.

Having checked in the data folder I see the second slave too but it has never interfered with playing the game.

I've also made this is the tool. I've used it to create a database of your WHDLoad collection which can then be saved as an IGame compatible playlist with full genres. It will also manage screenshots as well.

mrv2k, that tool looks great! Can we get it somewhere?

I'm still looking for the easiest way to deploy these WHD files onto an Amiga, especially now, that the updates, in separate folders, are increasing in amount. I've seen some scripts, but I'm hoping for a more user friendly way.

compilation maker creates the whdload scripts for you too from a directory tree containing installed games. The cool point is that it parses slave information so it's able to extract game names & other info from slaves to create a bootable disk with AGS installed. I have a ton of screenshots too and the tool is generally able to find the best named image with the game name, but didn't put them on github because it's big (I can dropbox them)

still looking for a tool/soultion that properly syncs folders on the amiga (cf card mounted in winuae), though. The tools I have tried have a tendency to copy everything... maybe a date issue?

will experiment with squirt server at some point. I already use that to run lha from the emulator in batch mode.

At the moment it's not really for public release as it is very cludgy and does very specific things that I used to create the database for IGame. I am looking to do a cut down version with a fixed database and also an Amiga based tool which will update your games list on Workbench. Just need to dig out and re-learn Blitz Basic. This tool is written in Purebasic which is a fork of Blitz, so the code syntax is very similar.

What filesystem do you use on the CF card? If it is FAT then there is a time stamp "problem" that can make a file differ. BackUp has an option to "fix" this issue.

Cheers, didn't know that.

@Retroplay
You said in the report that
Quote:
Old v1.1 Low Mem slave is fine
. It still needs at least 26mb to run so defeats the point of it really. (v1.0 LowMem works, I reported it September 2019).

Do you mean slave 1.0 (07-oct-06 23:20:04) ?
It's the only v1.0 slave available at whdload.de, doesn't say Low Mem though.

If that's what you mean I can add that for the time being.

I already have the old LowMem slave (v1.0). I think it was from KillerGorilla's packs way back when they were in zip format! I'll wait and see if the latest version get's fixed. The only reason i've kept it is to use on the Retroarch UAE emulator which can only use 2mb chip & 8mb fast.

I always close bugs when I release slaves to whdload release e-mail. Updates generally appear in the days after that.

The old lowmem slave wasn't really lowmem. The new lowmem slave has so little memory that it crashed on startup (I was sure I had tested that...), update has 1MB fastmem, which allows 1 model of car.

should appear tomorrow or the day after (like a few others I released this weekend)
