How not to solder. Part #2.

I bought 3 defective A1200 motherboards on ebay. Needed a Alice chip but figured I could fix up two of them at least. I have now decided otherwise. So, without further ado: I'll just leave these loose thingies in the package unprotected. http://www.grandis.nu/images/A1200_MB_Bad_repairs/1.JPG Yes, removing caps is easy. And now we know why the prices for an A1200 have skyrocketed in the last few years
 I presume not a single one is working after all of this, right?  Friendly hint, next time buy a $20 hot air gun, even if most of them are way too hot for rework, you will certainly kill less stuff trying to desolder a PLCC that way (well, if it heats up chips to 800C that won't be good either!)  EDIT: I should stop looking at the pics. They make me sad

i wouldn't be surprised if most of the parts don't work anyway,well...not now. and whats all that crap on some of the ic's? solder paste or something else? |

Really! There should be a custodial sentance for such cruel acts... I am speachless here!!! Never have I seen such destruction. Hell even my younger self from years ago would not do such damage I will now have nightmares after seeing that lot lol. |

Resisted the urge to click this thread because 9 out of 10 I'd end up posting "still a lot better solder skills than i possess" but then I saw the photos. I'm just a simple guy who happens to ruin hardware but these boards are ruined by true artists.
