ZZ9000 vs Mediator

Dear Amigans. I want to have GFX card for my A4000. Actually, I have two options:
Mediator + Radeon 9250
ZZ9000.
Which card would you choose?

As no one has a ZZ9000 as it’s not been released this is impossible to answer.

Yes, I know. But I think about preorder for ZZ9000. This card has everything except audio chip. If it will have audio, buying a Mediator would be useless...

Mediator is definitely the best choice in the short term now that the relatively cheap Dell PCI Network card has been discovered to be a reasonable PPC accelerator.

The big price is the Mediator 3.3v card and PCI cards including the PPC can be picked up cheaply

yeah the K1/M1 killer nics are MPC8343 which is a enhanced 603 with 2x cache
though downside is it comes with 64MB so to get best results 1 would need to swap out the 2 chips
but we also use PMC so you can run 750/750FX/7410/7441/7457 etc cpus
user wrangler here runs a 750FX@1GHz atm in his A4000
on youtube running Q3 a old port runs better with newer version

Yep, you need good volts and cooling but 1GHz is achievable with the 750FX.

I would go for the ZZ9000 if only there was some news about drivers and such.

If I see what Lukas managed to do with the VA2000, numerous updates and extra VA2000CX flickerfixer I am sure he will deliver with this card also.

If sound is what makes you doubt, buy a prisma megamix.

All in all you will be a bit cheaper of I think. Mediator, Spider USB, Radeon ... +400€?

I wouldn't care too much about those "sharkPPC" reincarnations ... yeah you can play doom and quake 1,2,3. It would be interesting if it ran OS4.1, that's pretty usable on my G3 666 mhz.
