Yeah, things like accessing files from a samba share instead of USB would have been great.

It's a real shame, since the PiDrive was much better than Gotek's firmwares (imho) ... loved the boing ball selector and everything. Hopefully the author will change his mind and release the sources.
It is strange though since he was very enthusiastic about releasing the new version with directory support and several other things (which he said was done and just needed testing), then just *pufff* he stopped posting everywhere... |

So, is this a recompile of the PiDrive code for the zero? Is the source available ? What is going on ?

That's what we did: 1 - get the binaries (from Maurizio's original link) 2 - remove unnecessary files 3 - update "bootcode.bin" and "start.elf" with most recent versions from Raspbian 4 - edit "config.txt" to change "force_turbo=1" in "force_turbo=0" That's all. TGCA & Nemesis. |

Man, I wish someone would do this again, with Raspberry Pi Zeros, we can really have a nice and tiny Amiga floppy replacement unit which could have other added functionality!
I'm gonna try whatever is available and see how far it works. |

That would be awesome and tiny
I've still got an orginal Pi model B (which I need to shift). It was intended for the original version of this project but I missed the opportunity at the time |

I mean, you can still get the files for this and build your interface, since I don't think kipper cares to sell these anymore since he got involve with Vampire. I think I will give it a try, although with a zero's shape, getting the card out the floppy slot might be a bit of a challenge.
Wish this project supported USB storage too! Anyway so many things to wish for |

unfortunatly, Kipper and mram disapeared from all the forums / web sites they were contributing. So it looks like this project is dead. But, I have been able to make a working rpi drive for my A500 !
If anyone has the source code, then it will be appreciated o post it here... |

kipper was posting here recently. Seems like he chooses carefully where to post at, and also seems he is fed up with the Amiga scene and making hardware for it (can't blame him).

I wonder... are ALL the GPIO pins on a Pi being used by PiDrive? If not then you could use the Pi also as a USB host for say... a proper USB mouse...
Look at this YouTube Video for doing so on Atari ST (was easy enough)... [ Show youtube player ] If you are going to fit a Pi inside your Amiga might as well make maximum use of it!!! |

Finally got a PiZero and these thing are nonexistent now. I really wanted to use one to emulate 4 floppy drives. Anyone know where I can buy an assembled board in 2023?
