Nearly 3 years later...
Yeah, just ran R-Type 2 via WHDLOAD on NTSC mode. Screen is chopped, the game doesn't get any smoother as people reported before, just faster. Stupid and worthless idea, do not bother doing it.

Trouble trying to run NTSC mode
I disagree completely. Runs smoother and better for me on NTSC. Could just be my perception though as that is what I am used to. Like playing Xenon 2. I was used to playing the cracked PAL version on my NTSC machine as it ran faster. Playing it in PAL seems too slow.
