Don't hold me to this and please don't ask for a release date because both myself and the rest of the ALE development team are very busy at the moment.

A MegaMix is in production in an off-line state and is coming along nicely, currently the Mix contains:

1. Pinball Fantasies (Intro Theme Remix) 2:35(ish)
2. Body Blows (C'Mon Remix) 2:50(ish)
3. Lotus 2 (Dance N Drive Remix) 1:50(ish)

The reason Lotus 2 isn't very long is because this is were we last left the mix - it's now over 1MB in size but a massive amount of down-sampling and filtering has yet to be done on the track.

It will come - that for sure but when? even we are not very certain about that.

Cool!!

Thats sounds cool!!!
Will you let us all know when its finished or go one even better by putting it on this forum?

Do you do a lot of projects like this?

I notice theres quite a few remixes on your site.

How do you go about doing these remixes?

Yeah I'll give it a mention here with a list of tracks that have been added to the megamix, possibly add either an URL to the mix or just send you to ALE for a visitor - hehehe.

We certainly do, but due to a headphone fault at the moment we aren't working as much as we would like on these mixes.

Anyone is invited to send us a remix and we'll be only too happy to post it for them - with full credit of course.

ZeeWolf: How do you go about doing these remixes?

========================================

Well first of all you need to rip the original tracks from the Amiga game, to do this you'll need something like Exotic Ripper and Workbench 2.0+ installed

It's easier with emulation because you simply insert the ADF as a file, shove it in some logical memory block on the Amiga's emulated RAM (so you'll need above 2MBs) and then use Exotic Ripper to scan the memory for samples and modules.

Once you have found your song simply save it to disk. It has to be in the old MOD format (Noisetracker/Protracker etc) to work in most PC trackers. So if the song you are trying to rip has been composed in anything other than the standard MOD format you will need to use something like Pro-Wizard to convert it.

Then exit the emulator, load your tracker and insert the song. Play about with the samples etc - try to learn the melodies and then compose a new song with the melody your just learned. If you forget how something is meant to sound you can always go back to the original and check it.

A guide for this SHOULD be available at ALE soon.

PS: The reason we don't use Exotic to convert known formats to MOD files is because it is often missing samples (SM60 command) or simply writes a garbage file in which it *thinks* is correct.

Once again Malc did it, providing us excellent Amiga classic mods re-mix !

The megamix is 11' minuts long, and very well done.
All differents parts are connecting almost perfectly.

My favourite passage is near the end, we think the megamix is finished...
but Stardust main tune arrive and break all ! haaaaaaa, excellent.:happy

congratulation Malc.

Don't Take Too Long?

It depends on how much free time we have and how many new remixes we make from now and then - but another megamix is in the back of our minds.

You'll have to wait and see.
