Classic 1st Gen EA games for the Amiga

I have read, and remember from back in the day, that a lot of the first generation electronic arts games only work with WB 1.2 roms and or OCS. I have read how to play these games easily through WinUAE with the correct ROM files but what about a loaded A1200?

Has anyone managed to get these to work with any of the "degrader" programs and possibly WHDload on an A1200?

The games I am thinking of are:

  • Seven Cities of Gold
  • Dr. J and Larry Bird go One on One
  • Marble Madness

Wow, it sure does. Unfortunately it is all but unplayable due to an issue centering the ship / expedition on the screen.

I have the slave file in the directory but I have no idea what to do with it. I am running this from Games Menu and not the icon, maybe that is the issue...

The SevenCitiesOfGold.slave belongs into the game folder. Shows the blue splash screen "Version 1.1"?

Yeah it shows 1.1 but my boat and expedition are still near the bottom part of the navigation window instead of in the center. Hmm...

Maybe then you should send a bug report via the MantisBT. Or ask Jotd via pn (maybe he reads here too).

Yeah, the Seven Cities WHDload install is bugged. I reported it about two years ago.

By the way, Marble Madness works on Kickstart 1.3.
