Thank you! Sorry for pestering. Yeah it is good if it works. I am still puzzled why it won't work even though I've followed the guide I'll try at least putting it back together again and see if that makes a difference.

I'll let you know hopefully by weekend once I've had a chance to look at this again
BTW did you get your version working on A500? I'm assuming your motherboard was different to mine? |

I didn't attempt it for the one I took pictures from because I couldn't get it open because of one of the screws. Not going to even try as this drive is goofy. haha
On my alternate one, yes it works great on the A500. I hot glued the jumper wires and sealed it back up and it is in my spares box. But since I hosed up my other Rev 6 A500 trying to replace a 74xxx logic chip I have another spare. lol. |

Hi all,
I have a Mitsumi drive ( D359M3D ) but mine has different layout from the ones I see around here. It looks closer to this http://www.msxinfo.net/wp-content/up...3-15.19.25.jpg I attached a photo of my drive: As you can see my drive with the above are pretty close but my ICs are NCL058 and NCL053 and I don't see the 6 solder pads anywhere. I already cut the wire from pin 34 and soldered the 10 and 12 pins together. What should be my final step?! Thanks! |

Digging up this thread from long ago...
I have 5 new-in-box D359M3D FDDs. Has anyone confirmed that with the mod discussed these can be used in an Amiga? e.g. https://www.msxinfo.net/tag/fdd/ I just got a nice A1200 given to me, but the HD appears dead and the Workbench 3.1* disk has errors on it. I don't know if that means the disk is definitely bad or the floppy drive (Chinon) is just so old and cruddy nothing is going to work - but I'm prepared to mod a drive if anyone can confirm these work. *real shame - it's the original 6-disk cardboard folder that came with the 1200. Where to get another set of this? Does any Amiga Forever set include Workbench set? |
