AG2Txt help

Please can you help?

I want to convert an AmigaGuide readme into Text so I can print it out on my PC. I am using the tool AG2Txt program which I downloaded from Aminet. I am not sure I have got my syntax correct and I have read the readme file accompanying the program but I am still none the wiser.

This is what I type after opening a shell: AG2Txt SnoopDos.guide Plain 1 1

The usage states you type AG2Txt fname<name of file> Mode <Plain or ANSI> Line <n> Link <CC>

The message I get back is: no input file specified.

All the files are in the same folder and I have changed to the correct folder to run the program from.

Hope you can help?

yes, it's not that easy to read

use it this way

AG2Txt fname=SnoopDos.guide mode=plain

you don't need to add params that are default.

AG2Txt fname=SnoopDos.guide

would be sufficient in your case

As an alternative...
you could use WinGuide
and Print or Copy+Paste
from it.

Copy+Paste ? You really must hate him a lot
with bigger guides it is almost pure incident to capture all pages correctly

Printing is possible but:
guides do not use size of typical paper sizes like USlegal or DIN
font size isn't supported either
hardly possible to follow topics
winguide tends to crash ocassionally

guide2html would be a way to view and print aguides on a pc

have fun

I`ve just test Gguide2txt (I guess it is from Aminet) with SnoopDos.guide and the result looks good by the first view. Just in case you want to have a look. Syntax is easy:
Code:
Gguide2txt Vn01.01 by Gnome

Enter the path/inputfile path/outputfile names:
 Optional 3rd argument <lines-per-page>
(63 by default. 0 if formfeeds not wanted.

e.g. Tools:Text/Gguide2txt/Gguide2txt df0:myguide ram:mytext 66
