CD32 Emulation on Dreamcast?

Hi everyone.

I was just wondering why no-one has made a CD32 emulator for Dreamcast. I think it would be fast enough to do it.
My DC is pretty much used only as an emulation machine for game consoles so I thought it would be nice.

Bippy is spot on, unfortunately it's not powerful enough to emulate it! The xbox is just good enough but the DC falls short! Shame

I'm surprised. I guess it's the custom chips that would cause the emulation slowdown. That is a crying shame though.
An XBox would be redundant. I already have an aging PC and a linux box. I also have a tandy T1000 so I even have a PC that uses a shared gfx/data bus. Ah well. Thanks for that.

I have tried a uae version for my dreamcast some time ago. It was too slow and the sound was skipping ... too much frameskipping in not good either, I dont know the current status but its easy to check yourself @ http://www.dcemulation.com/ or other sites, burn some cds an test

please tell us all if you test it.

I would have thought it might be possible, seeing that it can emulate PS1 games even better than ps1.

I think i'll start coding now :P

There is an unofficial Bleemcast bootdisc from what I know, which plays quite a few games on the DC. See http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10860 for a small compatibility list.

yeah, the dedicated bleem! discs which you can buy (metal gear solid, gran turismo 2 and tekken 3) work perfect, I've got the bleem! beta also, some games work really well others not at all

with the beta you can also play, dare I say... backups of your ps1 games, but the dedicated ones only play original discs (both PAL and NTSC)

The DC MS emulator was fecking superb. It was 100% (or damn near enough).

It had a god awful name though! SMEG!

So the PS1 emulator is good then? Are we talking bleemcast or PCSX?
I never saw a CD32 emulator on dcemulation. maybe it was removed?

NesterDC has advanced since the last time I slapped it onto CD. Still has heaps of bugs but it can play most games now. I just wish I had a VMU.

I like the DCs emulation ability. Because I've been stuck in a small house I havent the space to set up all my consoles and computers.
