Fast-ATA, CD-Rom & cd-filesystem prob

I have a HP cd-writer and my system always hangs when i try ANY cd-filesystem (AmiCDFS, AsimCDFS, CahceCDFS, AllegroCDFS) and insert an Amiga cd into the drive. AmiCDFS don't crash but doesn't recognize any cd's either. The drive works fine under OS4.0 but on any classic OS it always hangs the system.

I have a few aces left to try but any help would be great!

Hi Bamiga,

Does it have a flashable ROM? The problems with Classic AmigaOS could be solved by using a different (earlier?) firmware version.

SOLVED!
All i did was goto ATA-prefs, change PIO mode from 4 to 3 and now i'm a happy cd-writer user with CacheCDFS .

Out of curiosity: why not the original AllegroCDFS?

CacheCDFS can read Joliet/Windows CD's, can AllegroCDFS do that?

**EDIT**
apparently it can, taken from Elbox site:

"AllegroCDFS features:

Access to:
ISO 9660 level 1, 2, 3,
Joliet (Windows 95/98 long name - 64 characters) level 1, 2, 3,
RockRidge (with Amiga Extensions),
CDDA,
UDF (Video DVD).

Supports Amiga protection bits.

Supports Multisession.

Supports SCSI and ATAPI devices (CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD).

Supports direct audio grabbing from standard audio CDs."

I'll try AllegroCDFS also .
