Try GFA Basic. I know one good game for Amiga in this language so standalone exe must be possible.

Thanks guys i'll give them a go!
I found a copy of the discs for Hisoft Basic in a pile of discs I bought second hand. I've installed it but without a manual I can only get so far. Any way, it does have an option to compile, and I assume this means compile the source to a free-standing executable. Yet when I do this, a window quickly appears and disappears (too quick to read) and i have no idea where the compiled executable is saved. Can anyone assist me, as from the examples, Hisoft Basic looks very standard and could me meet my simple needs. |

Thank you all. Especially ma693541. I found a blitz manual there. Seems a little "non-standard" but nothing too radical.
I did work out how to get HiSoft Basic to compile a stand-alone exccutable: Under the Compile menu theres a "To disk?" menu entry which needs to be ticked by selecting it. It then compiles the executable in the same location as the source and automatically gives it a name. Would be nice if anyone has a HiSoft Basic manual for sale, or put up a pdf in the zone? |
