@Sttjelle
Just an idea as i'm no expert, one of the pc'c i tried had loads of conflict errors on the pc xp side of the serial port settings. Although i wouldn't know how to correct them When i then tried a vista machine it said no conflicts in the same serial settings bit of windows?? that's the machine i'm using now. Also maybe go into your bios and try different irq settings for your serial port or ports. If you comp has two serial ports on the back mine only worked in number two as well??? (comm2) So maybe try one reboot then try another reboot etc.. not telling you how to suck eggs but just maybe worth a try? Ta |

off topic, been working on a motor all morning, trying to stop an oil leak, replaced sump gasket, (was old and rotten) still has a leak further up the engine too!
Maybe I'm one of those people who has to try everything before I reach the goal. I heard a saying somewhere the other day... I didn't fail 400 times, I just found 400 ways that didn't work! |

You need to type in the following in the cli window Type SER: to RAM:Setup The word TYPE is important. It won't work without it. Dave G |

Excellent point. Forgetting the word type will keep returning errors to you.

Sometimes it's the simplest things that answer the most complex problems.
Don't really know why I put a Santa smiley there, feeling festive I suppose? My IDE board for my A1000 will be on its way very soon. |

Oooooooooh man!!! Hehe, that was an aweful error. Well, I must admit I'm a rookie here could'nt read the instruction text carefully enough. That was the simplest task of them all! Now everything works. My ram disk got the AExplorer and I copied it to an empty disk. Thanks guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I got a lot of adf's to convert. I remember back in the old days. In 1988 i got my first Amiga. Defender of the crown, Platoon, Ebonstar, etc.. I'm ready to get som flashbacks (Now I'm ready to read about how to convert mye adf files to a floppy..) -sttjelle |

Paulcan: Yep, Defender of the crown is a real classical. The christmas eve -88, when I got my 500, I also got Test drive 1. The gfx was so fantastic I remember. But, after a while I turned to making music on the miggy. Modules (mod), over 100 mod files and joined Amiga groups like Pyrox, Freemem, Zeltic, Iris, Gods.. I was a bit surprised some time ago that my music was listed in the AMP register: http://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?de...ules&view=2357 Again, thanks for the help God bless from sttjelle. http://stiantjelle.com Last edited by sttjelle; 15 June 2008 at 11:43. |

This thread has inspired me!
With CD/DVD drives in all my Amigas & PCMCIA on all but one, I've become used to how fast I can transfer files...but as insane as it sounds, without the wait it's a bit boring So having lost my cable ages ago, today I went to the local electronics shop, purchased $5 worth of components, came home, made cable & now I'm writing some ADFs to disk on my A2000 Sure, I can just chuck a CD in it and & write them to disk heaps faster, but for some reason this way is FUN!!!! @Fingerlickin_B
It's like waiting for the old tape games to load on the UK101, Spectrum 48K, Dragon 32, Oric Atmos, BBC B, etc I remember one game that took that long to load I could eat my tea while it was loading up Dave G |
