i replaced CygnusED with these tons of possibilities by Redit ( http://aminet.net/package/text/edit/Redit ) wich works on all Amiga, even oldest AmigaOS 1.2

Simplest is the best

Yes, I love Redit. It might lack many of the more advanced features of the bigger options, but it's simple, fast, and works very well for most purposes.

Is there actually an Amiga text editor that does modern code coloring?

GoldED does (screenshots), and it doesn't only color it, but also does auto-casing, has quick help for commands, pre-made code structures via shortcuts, function browser, bracket matching etc.

I'm quite used to CygnusEd, so I mostly start it for any occasional editing needs, but nowadays I'm using GoldED (Cubic IDE) quite extensively for Hollywood coding too.

BTW. just noticed that Cubic IDE (GoldED is the editor of the package) is sold at half price on Black Friday

Do we have any editor that does folding?
And which one is it that adds a device you can load the text buffer straight from?
