MOD to Audio Tape!

After watching Techmoans excellent You Tube Video 'Casettes - Better Than You Don't Remember', I felt inspired to 'mess around' with audio tapes again. Having picked up a decent second hi-fi (Denon 201sa) from a local charity shop, before prices got silly for old hi-fi equipment, I plugged in the audio output of my A1200 straight into the Denon and recorded a TDK D90's worth of Amiga Mods. Playback from tape is awesome!!! I plan to do more 'mixtapes' just to chuck on the stereo when I fancy.

I used to do that in the 90s, also I was the only one who listened to the computer music at my school.
Good times...

Awesome! I still have a Hifi Deck (Pioneer IIRC) in the basement. How about Demoparties like Revision should accept the "Streaming Audio" entries as mp3 OR tape?!

I used to do this back in the day, late 1990 to early 2000's.

I hooked the A1200 up to a Sony old-school tape deck and amp.
Did this mainly so I could have the tapes in the Car.

The changed over to audio cd's. Tape sounds better imho, if you get it all setup right its brilliant

You're mad if you think tape sound better than CD's. It can come close if you've got a high end deck like a Nakamichi, but a Sony tape deck is going to produce nothing but poor quality recordings.

I picked up a Marantz PMD520 back when the unit was 300 dollars (the price peaked at almost 1000 not too long ago). The recordings on that deck are absolutely amazing and I can record at 1 7/8 ips and 3 3/4 ips on that deck (and play back at those speeds too). I made a composite output mod on my Commodore 64 and ill be moving my Amiga 1200 into my new house next month. I may record some mods and sids onto cassette as well in the near future
