PCs can't read Amiga-formatted floppies, but stick them in your Amiga and you can see everything that's on them.

If you have the Workbench Install disk with HDToolbox on it (and not the AmigaKit one), you can just repartition it and install. It's close to impossible to actually ruin a card, just like you can't break a hard drive by changing the partitions for Windows. Worst case, just start again from scratch.
