Where can you buy cartridge cases for the SNES?

Given that this section is called "Retrogaming General Discussion", I hope this is allowed on an Amiga board, so here goes. *EDIT* - I just noticed all the other non-Amiga topics, so I guess it is okay...can a mod please change the title to something more appropriate?

Does anyone know where you can buy cartridge cases for the SNES?

I don't mean a case the cartridge goes in, but rather empty cartridges with no guts.

There is a great need for some PAL (or Super Famicom NTSC) cases at my house, as my machine is a PAL one (well, PAL & NTSC now ) & I have a heap of US-sourced NTSC carts that need re-housing...I'm sick of just sticking the PCB in the slot with no casing!

I could just buy some cheap games off eBay that I don't actually want & gut those, but it seems like a bit of a waste.

PZ.

How about using an Action Replay? Probably cheaper and definately easier than re-housing the carts.

Re-housing the carts is very easy. Two screws per case, done

I was considering the time of procuring the donor carts in the first place. :P

We have it pretty easy here, only have to snip a couple tabs and the Japanese games fit right into the US SNES. But, I used a GameShark (with the lock bar removed) to play most of the stuff without any mods. Everything except SuperFX games seemed to work, although I didn't have any other specials.

Even better, get a Wildcard or GameDoctor and you won't have to worry about the carts at all.

Those options sound expensive.

I don't use the SNES often enough to justify such an outlay of funds...plus my Amigas get all the money spent on them!

When you decide what they are worth let me know...then I can decide if it's within my financial scope

http://www.oztion.com.au/buy/auction...e5=retrohuncho

There is a dude selling some of the higher capacity ones on oztion, they look pretty minty to me. Those ones also let you use HDD and CD-ROM. Mine just does floppy disks.

That is the one I have.

Yeah, I just found one of Retrohuncho's oztion ads.

$400? No f*cking way!

I'll just buy some cheap games, screw spending hundreds on a console I rarely use!

My SNES can already play ALL games, no matter what region, the cases just don't always.

It even plays Zelda & Mario RPG, from any region!

What change did you have to make to remove the region protection?

These adapters make the USA cartridges physically fit into a JAP/EU/AU SNES (as well as offering region removal). Surely one of these would be easier than changing the cases on the cartridges?? Unfortunately some of the cartridge adapters do not have enough pins for Star-Fox and other SuperFX games (maybe more?) which use the additional row of pins on either side of main PCB connector.

AFAIK there was nothing special about region protection in Zelda.

Yeah, but that's messy...just like using the PCB without case.

I want neatness.
