Well, because everybody has moved over to Logic, Fruity Loops, Reason etc... There are fewer people after outboard studio gear. I think the S5000 goes quite cheaply now. When I bought it, it was about £1500 or more. I've just Googled up an Ebay auction for a 5000 that ended at £223. I always found there were problems with the OS on the 5000 too (I don't know how much better it got after 2003, as you could download new updates from the net but I stopped using it then), maybe you'd be better off looking for an older model like the 3000...

...which is a classic.

Nice one, looks like a price I can cope with. Yeah I noticed so many people are using programs like Logic, unfortunately I can`t get my head around the software like that. What software are you using for your hcb stuff now?

Well, I was using Reason, mixing down in Logic, but I'm trying to move on to 100% Logic now. TBH, I haven't written anything that good for a while, lots of writers block in the past year amongst other things.

Reason seems to be quite popular with a lot of the producers nowadays, have you ever used Renoise? I know that a few of the HCB producers are using Renoise such as Stu and Nee. Ahh writers block can be annoying, I haven`t released anything but I can remember the frustration. Well I hope that things will work for out for you and its wikid to see another hcb producer on EAB.

I've ripped the sample disk example mod straight from my old A1200...

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=AAFKE77Y

Sorry I can't supply the actual mod file, it's a bit of a hassle getting stuff from Amiga to PC and back.

Nice one mulder, will chop that file up and convert them to Amiga format samples, by the way if you have an A1200 you could get a CF PCMCIA Kit from AmigaKit and transfer your files very easily from the Amiga to PC and vise versa.

daxb, hardcore breaks is basically old skool hardcore written with today's hardware, same breakbeats, riffs, stabs, pads and strings. you can check out more on hardcorebreaks.com

The main problem is that I'm on a Mac at the moment. There is a PC with floppy in the house, but I need to get the Amiga out, get access to the PC and run around a bit

I dunno what the purpose of sampling that file would be. You'd be better off finding the samples somewhere if possible. When I can, I'll see what I can do about getting them online again.

Ahh that can be a pain I understand. I am using a Mac as well, yeah you have to find a CF USB adapter for the Mac too. I`ll keep an eye out for the samples, must be somewhere on the net . Thanks for the heads up on the Akai 3000, I am gonna pick one up on ebay and have a play around with it and OctaMED.

I did try and do something a couple of years back, but I found I'd forgotten how to use OctaMed properly! Still, I listened to it when I got the Amiga out to do these rips and it wasn't bad, just a bit simple.

I decided to make a remix of the track "Some Justice". It is a pretty loose remix though.
