It might be that the 4030 version is an unofficial version I patched myself. I can't remember. If so, 4029 should still work.

I'm getting the same thing with the asm or c versions of the library, hanging on the splash screen, no crash but it doesn't continue loading. I know I've run it in the last six months, so I'm going to guess a recent change...
Strange, running it with Snoopdos, it rebooted when failing trying to load PicassoIV.resource (?) ^^^^ Testing on the Tower with CSPPC and AHI6 Testing it on the Desktop with Warpengine and AHI4, it's running, both have Ragnarok and both are using asm version of library. I don't know whether the version I have is new/old c/asm...but it's the version I got from Aminet:
powerpc.library 17.13 (12/19/20) It's an A4000D with WarpEngine '060/Mediator 4000Di/Voodoo3 3000 16Mb and erm 128Mb G4 450MHz (no idea on codenames, sorry) on a RAMIX carrier. EDIT: I realized I have a 17.14b archive from on here somewhere but apart from it being much slower (debug?) the end result is the same. Last edited by jkdsteve; 30 March 2021 at 03:05. |

In any case, I changed that and now it seems to work!!! I mean, it loaded up and crashed eventually but that's progress!!! <3 EDIT: The demo seems to be running fine but the real game locks up in more or less the same place when using the hardware renderer. I recall having issues with the first level when I had my CSPPC/CVPPC way back when.....if only I could get the license # from Hyperion to actually work for a re-install :-/ Last edited by jkdsteve; 30 March 2021 at 18:09. |

For fun I rename the various directories in ENVARC: to disable and see if it changes anything Appreciate the help, so far this whole thing has basically come down to use configuration error. EDIT: I got the game running now, without lockups, but all I did was *re-save* the Picasso variables using PVS, without changing anything ... LOL. On the plus side, it's pretty stable PPC setup now....I left QuakeII running timedemos overnight (accidentally) and it seems to stay up. Last edited by jkdsteve; 30 March 2021 at 20:29. |

I think so, I'll try to do so ASAP.
BTW, recapping the A3640 didn't improve the situation. If you test my WB and confirm that it works on your system, then it's definitely an hardware fault either on the Mediator side or the M1 itself. In that case I am willing to ship both of them out to any willing user with a working configuration to finally get to the bottom of this.... |

Anyway, you've got a PM with something you can test EDIT: Finished recapping the Mediator, still the same. Caps had started leaking, so I guess it wasn't all for nothing. My Mediator Mk I has now almost 20 years, I suppose it was logical to expect that caps started leaking. Anyway, nothing much changed. Last edited by jbenam; 03 April 2021 at 22:47. |

but I'm awaiting clarification from seller on what exactly he has before purchasing, it seems to be mis-labelled. |

You can see it has external L2 cache chips which the Ragnarok's 750FX doesn't support, however if I'm reading it right, has 1MB total instead of 2MB L2 like the other Apocalypse boards we have used. Looks to be 256MB of RAM. So it could be a G3-750 or a G4. But it does have that rear Ethernet header for when Wrangler finishes the driver!
Also, based on what I can see of the PLL_CFG resistors, probably clocked at 450MHz, though I guess it could be 500MHz. So either the description or the pictures are wrong. Last edited by grelbfarlk; 04 April 2021 at 20:21. |
