Fairlight is no more ...

Information :
=============
It has been a good few years, but it is now time for Fairlight to close its
doors for good. Many reasons have made us come to this judgement but we feel it
is for the best. The scene is getting to be a dangerous place. Not only do we
have to fear from the feds but also the unhonorable ones in the scene who lower
themselves to narq the competition. Retiring on top seems to be the best
decision for us. We want to thank all those throughout the years who have helped
us in one way or another.

/Team FairLight

I remember when i got first games from them for Amiga 500 .. i liked their "before game" intro .. also most of releases was fine and correctly cracked .. i will miss you guys, best wishes to you all and thanks for all you done for us.

The name Fairlight has always been synonymous with class! Thanks for all the memories all those years, FLT!

From a purely demo/cracks perspective I was surprised it didn't happen sooner. The days of Celebrandil, Alien, Skull, Jaco et al were their finest.

Sad day, was an institution on the Amiga.

like every famous name in the computers scene, it will be hard for users to really stop using it. (some people will always try to put name like this up, even if they have no link with the founders...)
wait & see.

Thats really sad
Whenever I download adfs, if there are multiple versions, I always go for either the Fairlight or Crystal cracked versions.
These groups always provided quality.

Sad to see that happen. Fairlight has always been one of the best if not the best cracking group I know of. All the way back from the days of the C64 and Amiga

hmm.. I dont really care about crackergroups anymore because I dont think that stuff is cool anymore but anyways, a source told me he asked some oldtimer in this group if it was the same old people in the new group releasing PC stuff and according to him mostly it wasnt.

But there is probably only one here who knows for shure.

I think the new sectors like PC and GBA had new kids, but in the oldschool platforms, giants of the golden ages remained (like Galahad on Amiga, and BAccuss on the C64)

Speaking of FLT, hey Galahad...what was the words between you and Hellfire back in the day (well, mid to late 90's, anyway). I just assume you dissed them for their stupid bragging, but maybe I missed something in the fakes dir.

And another question: what is the deal with Phuk The World?

Please check your facts before posting. As the text implies ("dangerous", "feds", "narq"), this has nothing to do with the demo sections.

Fairlight will keep amazing you with unbelievable demos in the future too.

Glad to hear they will be active. It seems they will only dismiss the "illegal" branches of FLT, which I think is tops.

So we haven't heard the last from Fairlight

Sounds like a good thing to me...Fairlight should stick to the CLASSIX such as C64 and Amiga.

Fuck this PC and GBA shite, leave that to the current lamers

well i dont think its "lame" to release new pc/gba/ps2/xxxxx cracks, I think the illegal scene still will be here many many years , its hard to catch the people behind the releases .... If they catch someone , others will release it

And cracks is needed, everybody doesnt have the money for every game/app out there...And I think the competition will be even harder, when more and more people wants to release their cracks ... I have seen some very professional releases the last year, much of the stuff is in fact in the old amiga style (both sound and music ...) ...

Yes, but such BuLLShiT..

I have to report that my career in QUARTEX and the like was brought to an end following a visit by the cops brought on by those nice people in FLT.. specifically JBM (one of the "leaders") grassing me up.

I was told this in a voice call with NOMAD and Splatt. The reason? Well, they could not handle the competition and since I would not join FLT they grassed me.

Granted it was 10 years ago, nearly, but "honorable"? NO...
