Can anyone test my A500 intro on hardware?
Hi,
I've finished my A500 OCS intro. Not got as many routines in there as I wanted. Took far far longer than the "couple of days" I thought it would. So going to get it released before I run out of motivation. I had planned a dot writer and tv box as well - oh well... Hoping to release it next week and will include all the source code, mod file and the original sound file that I did a few months ago (synthwave ) I developed it for A500 OCS and tested it in WinUAE in cycle exact mode and left a few raster lines spare. Not doing anything undocumented in there so hopefully there's a chance it will be ok. If anyone is able to test it on a A600 or something that would be great. I've only got access to an A1200 with accelerator. https://www.autoitscript.com/files/amiga/parcade.zip |

You did a good job
I don't have a real machine to test it, but I totally trust WinUAE CE. |

Hi Antiriad
I don't have real hardware so i can't help you But from what i know WinUAE emulation of Amiga 500 model is perfect So, no reason to test on the real hardware to see differences |

Why don't you release it at one of the upcoming demo parties ? Most parties accept remote entries
For example.. http://defame.com.au/flashback from 8th to 10th June |

You write "intro" but it looks like a full-blown oldskool demo! It's great! I like it!
Just tested it on my A3000/060 and there were no visible issues to me. Good job! |

Very nice! I enjoyed watching all of it a few times over in winUAE.
I could not get it to run on my NTSC ECS A500 1MB Chip and vampire V2+. I know it's not the specs you were asking for testing but I thought I'd try anyway. Nice job however. |

Thanks everyone, I'm actually a bit touched that you didn't think it terrible - maybe it wasn't a complete waste of my time I've seen the bloody thing so many times I've lost all perspective. The only bit I still really like is the split second where it transitions between 2 frame vectors to 1 frame.
I do a lot of C# these days and it's strange how you can still apply your general programming style back to assembler. When I looked at my old sources I was horrified at the style I'll clean up the source upload it next week. |

I dabble in music a bit (guitar) and back in the day I wrote about 30 unfinished ProTracker mods that were appalling. One of the ones that was very unstructured but could have gone somewhere was this one (think I used it in a terrible intro): Antiriad 10 (1991 Amiga) Then over xmas this year I wanted to learn logic pro and I wondered if I could turn that old module into something Synthwave-ish - and put it in to a verse/chorus/bridge structure. That ended up as this: Antiriad 10 (2019 Logic Pro) Last week I got sick of coding and wanted to wrap it up. So I thought I'd go take the updated version of the music and convert it back to a mod. The circle is complete |

One thing... are you by chance the developer of AutoIt... I used that massively in the past and it's a superb tool, it saved my bacon at work lots of times... if so I encourage you to take a long bow! |

Just tried this on a MiSTer configured as an A1200 and also my GBA which is essentially an A500+ with 68060. Both ran fine but I'm not really sure about the "Glen's Vectors" bit. Not really sure what it's meant to do, it just very briefly flash up some black and white images - or it may have been some very brief animations?
Probably my cluelessness, not your demo!! I agree with the comments though, this is more than just an intro. |

Let it keep playing. There's some flashes between shapes then it should come into colour and be a long vector routine. Unless it went wrong
