Networking Issue

Having a networking problem since our recent move. There is my A2000,
equipped with a DKB Wildfire 060, an Imac using OS 10.6.8, and a PC running Win XP in the system. Prior to the move the Amiga could see the PC, the Imac could see the PC, and the PC could see the Amiga, and I could transfer files.

Now, the Mac can see the PC, but the PC cannot see either the Amiga or the Mac. Have an Emulator on the PC, and need to back up the Amiga.

The PC cannot ping the Amiga.

Any suggestions?

I don't recall how XP works anymore but you may want to check *ALL* your netwrk settings. A couple of things could have happened. One, XP may have detected it's on a different network assuming you didn't transplant the entire infrastructure from your old place.

Check Date and time settings on on all machines are correct.

Check firwall settings. if you changed physical networks, some other settings may have changed.

Check Static vs DHCP on all machines. changing networks could have made one of more of you PCs lost their IP addressing so if anyone of them were set to static, could be an issue.

If anyone of them are still set to static it may not match your current network settings.

If any of those things changed it would effect any network shares you may have had setup.

If they are wireless could be wireless tech is different on new router assuming there is one? 2GHz vs 5GHz etc.. could be an issue.

If everything is cabled and you are using the same cables - could be a cable problem - they can go bad especially after unhooking, packing, moving, unpacking, replugging.
