Nothing in the future for the CD32 ?
Hello ,
just to ask as we can see new products for A600/A1200/A500 but nothing for the CD32. To upgrade the CD32 you must be lucky or have a lot of money (sx1,sx32 etc). It would be great to have at least an HD possibility for it,no ? |

It would be nice to see some upgrades for the system. Though I don't fully know how upgradable the system actually is.

An ACA-CD32 accelerator would be a dream come true. A 030, FastRAM and CF is all it'd need, Clockports, Ethernet or USB or as PS/2 keyboard port would be welcome too but not essential. The most expensive part of a CD32 expansion would be the expansion connector itself, so maybe those few extras would make it worth the higher cost of such an accelerator.
Even a CD32 with 8MB FastRAM is an impressive machine, runs Doom as smoothly as my 28Mhz 030 A1200 thanks to the Akiko chip, and other 3D games are smoother too. |

For me I would like to see things that will expand and stabalise the system. A start would be to expand the storage available to game saves. As Cammy as also mentioned an accelerator would be a nice adition to the CD32

i'm actually keeping money to be able to buy an SX1 one day , but it's a lot of money(200/300euros) for an "old"and rare thing (which make the price), i think it would be more intresting and realistic to buy a new add on for a price around 150 euros.
I really think there would be more than 300 interested persons... |

There is an expansion of sorts out now, it gives a floppy drive and has a couple of add ons like a real time clock and printer port.
Analogic computers have been making them for years. I'm sure someone clever could 'upgrade' it somehow? Isn't half the work done? They advertise on Ebay uk if anyone is interested. By the way I'm #7 I love my CD32 |

I have set up a poll / thread "Do you have working CD32" some time ago. The number of members having the machine is low. I personally have one, but I am not sure if I would buy any upgrade. I dont like CD32 much.

I recall Jens saying* that he had a small batch of the PCB expansion connectors for the CD32.
*this may not be true, but I'm following my brain signals, not my heart. Then again I might be in the realms of cloud cuckoo land/dreaming. |
