@Mick_AKA

I dono my friend, photographin black in a non white room will always look off, infact i am quite impressed with the job looking at the pics i see here.

LOL i think we need to club together and Tj a white room for photography!

I believe the non-smoothness that Ironclaw has noticed is infact the plastic surface. as I have an a1200 that looks exactly like that under artificail light but is not only smooth to the touch its hardly noticable in regular daylight, admitedly i am not that brave for a total black, mine was a creme'

I have some experience with photography and the surface looking so weird could very well be the camera quality or bad light. Maybe he should take a new picture with more light in the room, outdoor light is highly recommended.

It is a little textured but the original A500 surface is also the same way. (I just looked at another A500) And I prefer it like that vs smooth... I am using special spray paint for plastic so it should be ok for a while. It wont be used much anyhow...

I like it, think it looks really slick. I can appreciate the finished product too, because I know how difficult it can be to respray. The un-even-ness as referred to is common on the a500s' plastic, because I have exactly the same on all mine.

Dunno, why but this a500 reminds me of Knight Rider and the Kit car (80s)

Hmm, Skippy

I was thinking the exact same thing, probably has something to do with the red power led.
Looks great.

It certainly looks sexy although it does remind me of the failed Amstrad/Sinclair PC200! Apart from the keys of course!

That paint job looks the mutts nuts

I wouldnt sand anything and just leave it alone imho. It looks like the o/p used plastikote/vynil dye paint which is designed for plastic. I dont know why but whenever I have seen grey primer on sanded plastic topped off with colour from a rattle can it always peels off and then it has to be done all over again.

You'll struggle to get a black CDTV keyboard. I'd say a good 50% of all those ever made have been butchered already to make black Amiga's.

I bought one for £14 in 2007 on eBay. Expect to pay 5x that today!

Ah ok lol, I doubt my Mrs will let me spend that much! And it's probably best I don't as I very much doubt I have the skills to get that kind of a finish on it

Can you use keycaps for cherry switches?

I would love to have an Amiga with transparant red keycaps

Does anyone know who has the original case moulds? I presume that are sat in a warehouse somewhere. Would be great to see some new coloured cases like the new c64 ones.

The Amiga cases have the Amiga trademark embossed in the moulds. I doubt they can be used without a licence from I guess Amiga Inc.
